Maybe you’d like to find out what the Church did to Galileo, Spinoza, Giordano Bruno & Copernicus before you dare speak about how the church has contributed to modern science. It has done almost everything to oppose the scientific process – from killing “heretics”, to banning steam cell research. No no, the Church really is the enemy of civilization. By the way, being a scientist doesn’t make you immune to holding bizarre & stupid beliefs. Your accurate list of crack-pot scientists proves that.

FRANZ: Pasteur the Father of Microbiology, Mendel the Father of Genetics, Lemaitre the proponent of Big Bang Theory crack pots? I think it is you who is on crack. Your head is full of “steam” it just can’t help but to spew garbage. You can’t even spell the word “stem” correctly and yet you have the gall to denigrate these people who have done much to science? I know the case of Galileo. He was censured not for his works in heliocentrism pioneered by priest Copernicus, but because he tried to interpret the bible using heliocentrism which is just a theory at that time.

As regards to Spinoza and Copernicus, they were never censured by the Church. As to Bruno,he was executed by the secular government not because of his scientific works but for heresy like his belief that Christ is not God but only a magician, etc. At that time, heresy is a crime against the State. His heresy threatens the common peace and order. The Church tried to save Bruno by convincing him to recant his theological beliefs but he refused. So the secular government executed him.

The Church is not the enemy of civilization, it is actually the builder of Western Civilization. Our monks preserved the ancient writings & culture while Europe was being ravaged by barbarians. The Church pioneered the university system, contributed much to the promotion of arts & music, jurisprudence, philosophy, hospices and orphanages. Atheists like you have done nothing in comparison. In fact, according to Solzhenitsyn, atheism is the cause of 50 millions deaths in Russia.

I find it hard to comprehend that someone is as misguided as yourself. The most important minority that have ever existed in HISTORY have been atheists. Those who have challenged the status quo & given way to science & the enlightenment. Einstein, Voltaire, Lucretius, Democrates – simply put – the founders of science & the greatest minds of our time.

FRANZ: The feeling is mutual. Challenging the status quo doesn’t mean you pave the way for science and enlightenment. You have to produce results. Our scientists produced outstanding results within Catholic theological context and milieu. An example is the work of Buridan on impetus in 14th century based on the idea of prime mover, paving the way for the understanding of things in motion inspiring Newton, Copernicus and others. Modern science has a medieval origin and atheists have little or no part in it.

And for your utterly stupid point that “atheism” lead to 50million deaths in Russia – this is absolute nonsense. The belief in “god” was simply replaced with another man-made ideology where a human leader was blindly worshipped instead of a supernatural entity. Both religion & this regime were COMPLETE surrenders of reason. I suggest you start doing some real thinking for a change Sir, instead of rehashing boring & long-ago discredited arguments. Thanks.

FRANZ: Atheism being the cause of 60 million deaths in Russia is not nonsense. This is a conclusion based on the 50 years of actual experience and study of Solzhenitsyn. Surely, Solzhenitsyn is more credible in assessing Russian history as compared to an atheist like you who is just a late time observer, desperately trying to dissociate atheism from atrocities in Russia. What was imposed in Russia was state-sanctioned atheism not another religion. So it is you who needs some real thinking. lolz

I apologize on two counts. firstly, referring to these men as ‘crack-pots’ only as an emphasis that respect for their work is different than the respect for the ridiculous & nonsensical beliefs they may hold. Secondly, for my misspelling… my fellow grammar Nazi 😉 Though this is a lame attempt to smear my argument that Religion is anti-science, which is both obvious & self evident. Your refusal to admit this speaks volumes about the way your mind works. Like a child in denial.

FRANZ: You have no choice but to apologize because you are clearly wrong. If Pasteur et al are crackpots, then what are you? Don’t you know that these people were able to make advances in science because they were inspired by their Catholic faith which posits that there is a rational and powerful being who created a rational universe which operates in terms of various laws accessible to human reason? This belief enabled breakthroughs & discoveries in science possible. Atheism has nothing to do with this.

Actually, it you who is on denial. It’s very clear that Religion is not against Science. Since the Church is always for the truth, therefore it can’t confine itself to spiritual truths only but also, to scientific truths as well. The fact that there are men of faith, particularly priests, who excelled in different fields of science, proves this. Science developed within Catholic setting. Atheist scientists actually relied on the pioneering works of our scientists to make name for themselves. That’s a fact that you have to live with. Btw, don’t you know that it is the Church who is responsible for our Calendar System today? Atheists have no contributions in that. lolz

Denying contraception to women that are in need of it is morally no different than sacrificing them on a stone alter. It looks like the Mother Roman Church – after all these centuries – hasn’t really changed at all. It’s a good thing that this religion is in terminal decline & all those that know better than to believe this horrific nonsense can rest easy that one day it’ll all be over. Keep pressing people, don’t give these “priests” an inch.

FRANZ: The Church on terminal decline? I think you’re living under a rock because you don’t know anything. Don’t you know that the Church is growing everyday? It is one of the fastest growing Church in the US. Last year, 150,000 converts were baptized in US alone. Is that declining to you? Also, your desperate attempt to equate human sacrifice to the denying of contraception to women is pathetic at best. It’s simply twisting of the truth. Denial of contraception is never murder. It is pro-conception.

This will be my last reply, because you can’t argue & you’re wasting my time. Your last statement made it very plain for everyone to see, where your moral compass is at. You’re not yet capable of thinking for yourself & no nothing of science, nor how true morality comes about. I’ll give you a clue – it doesn’t come from holy books. Please become educated.

FRANZ: It is obvious that it is you who can’t argue. Imagine, you equated the denial of contraception to murder? Where in hell did you get that idea? Who is being murdered in the act of denying contraception to women? Hmm? Kindly edify us with this moronic idea of yours. I’m not even sure if such idea is just a product of your very limited cognitive ability or just one of your lies. Maybe both. Believing in the bible doesn’t mean you are no longer capable of thinking for yourself. There is no such rule.
