THIS is the correct analogy for the Traslacion! Not with the image of the Golden Calf. Why? Because the Golden Calf NEVER EXISTED, therefore, NEVER A GOD. But the image of the Black Nazarene is different. It’s the image of the suffering JESUS CHRIST who EXISTED and IS A GOD. As Scripture says: “The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.” (Colossians 1:15).

The Traslacion depicts the time Jesus’ Carrying of the Cross, to fulfill the Scriptures and to save us. During the Carrying of the Cross, there were people who shouted with joy at the sight of this, but we Catholics represent the other people who mourned and wished we could’ve helped the Lord. We wish that it was us to carry the Cross for Him.

Kaya natin to ginagawa. Sa mga ibang sekta, para sa kanila, sapat na ang mabasa sa Bibliya ang paghihirap ng Diyos. Pero tayo hindi, kaya natin to ginagawa upang maramdaman natin at makiisa sa Naghirap na Diyos. Dahil naghirap Siya upang iligtas tayo.

Scripture says in Ephesians 5:1-2 “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.” And we are humans, we have limitations but our Faith allows us to surpass our limitations. We try as much as we can to know GOD, and be with GOD.
